Our new gemstone candies are sure to hit your sweet spot
Coloured gemstones can look just like sweeties and rocks are as hard as, well, rock. Put them together and what do you get...Gem Rock!
We teamed up with SpunCandy who create the most amazing handmade confectionary ranging from lollipops to fudge, candy floss to toffee. You can even make your own face out of candy, there aren't many things these guys can't do!
Armed with a rough idea and a sketch of our candy, we went down to their Spitalfields shop to meet with their Marketing Manager, Paula Tatchell. We spent the morning tasting every flavour imaginable, juicy fruits, tongue tingling sours, nectarous sweets and even some tempting savouries. We couldn't make our minds up as they were all so delicious, so we had to come home with a pick-and-mix and deliberate. After we had chosen our flavours and ironed out a few style kinks, the Spun Candy design team mocked up our bespoke packaging and labels and we were ready to go! The whole team were amazing from start to finish, a couple of the Master Candy Makers even let us film them during the making of our Gem Rock. The quality of the candy is outstanding and the flavour is so true, you do feel like your getting one of your five a day with the fruity flavours.
Make sure to watch the video below and see how the natural colourings and flavours bring the candy to life. The process is incredible!

About 6 years ago I, like Alice, fell down a rabbit hole and into a completely new world of lily-pads, horsetails, zebra-stripes, rain and silk. This kaleidoscopic universe is what you find inside gemstones. You can peek through the keyhole with a loupe but what you really need is a microscope to see any detail.
Being half American is very dear to me especially when that ties me to Virginia, where my Mother was born in Lynchburg. I've always felt at home there especially as an escape from the frenetic pace of London so you couldn't have a better location for an artistic retreat. At the end of a long winding driveway, tucked amongst lush woodland with the Blue Ridge Mountains on the horizon you'll find the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA). Since I've been collaborating with them on an auction lot to raise funds during their Fête Champêtre on Saturday April 29th 2017, I was delighted to have the chance to look round their grounds, hear how things are run and even meet a couple of their residents last time I was in town.
We were invited by the National Association of Jewellers to join them on their Great British Talent stand at the Jewellery and Watch Show.
